I have been to an American restaurant
with my mother on weekend. There are varieties of activity and aspect of
culture in Columbus, but the food is my most interesting stuff that is much
different from China. And I think food
can reflect one city’s culture more obviously and directly. We went to a
restaurant called Applebee’s where have many American customers. We chose it
because it looks popular, many cars parking there. We ordered a chicken salad,
a steak, a meal looks strange that we do not know its name and some juice and
cocktail. When I sat there, I looked around, finding many things that are
different from Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is decorated more interesting
and lively, having both dining tables and bar chairs. Furthermore, we can look
the menu more randomly. Because the waiter would come to you until you have
already chosen what to eat.
It was fun for us, experiencing different
culture. I would recommend it to my friends if it were possible. The nice
waiter, fine environment and good food!
Yixuan, seems like a good cultural experience. I am not sure what you mean when you say - urge the dishes - hurry them or beg for them? THis is must be cultural.
ReplyDeleteIt means hurry them, cause some restaurants always cook very slowly. It is cultural difference.
