My cross-cultural experience

There was a football game which is the OSU versus Miami in Ohio State University football stadium.   Many people wore red and grey T-shirts to cheer the OSU football team.  Though I did not buy the ticket for the game, I decided to watch on TV with people in my church.  We met up at the Cannon Dr. Parking lot which is besides the stadium around 11 A.M.  Almost of people wore the red clothes for the day.  However, I did not know the tradition for the game, so I could not wear it.

While we waited for the game, we played “Corn hole” which is one of American game.  There is a similar traditional game in Korea, so I was so glad in a way that there is a common thing between America and Korea.  When the game started, we grabbed a burger for the lunch.  Some of men grilled the hamburger patties at the parking lot.  All the people served the food by themselves.  We watched the game, cheered for the OSU, and screamed when we made a touchdown.  Finally, when we won, we yelled and hugged one another.
It was my first time to watch the football game with people.  Football is not a popular sport in Korea, so I even did not know the rules.  However, people explained kindly and made me understood.  I had a lot of fun with them, and I really recommend the watching football game with people.  We can cheer the team together and it makes us have a close relationship.  Even though my English is not perfect, sports and game always united American and me as one.  In addition, I made a lot of American friends which is really meaningful to me.  Try to watch the American football game!

  1. Sounds like you had a great experience of watching the game even outside the stadium. Good description.
