I agree with what the female student said more. Citing could be really helpful to academic writing, and during the paraphrasing, we can express our own point more comprehensively. By giving more information, readers can acquire more knowledge and we can demonstrate our view throughly. And not only citing helps but also it shows that our respect to the original source. Intellectual property need to be protected. Even though sometimes it could be difficult and inconvenient, it is beneficial and necessary.

Summary and respond to the video "Plagiarism? Are you kidding?"
In the video "Plagiarism? Are you kidding", two students talked about plagiarism and purpose of citing. The male student considered citing to be waste of time because it can only be sign of reading original sources carefully and conscientiously, and he also thought that to paraphrase all the sentences and to change grammar points make it even worse to cite. However, the female student hold opposite opinion. She viewed the citing as rules, and she explained to the man that citing doesn't mean paraphrasing everything but only use the main idea. Furthermore she pointed out that the purpose of citing can be varied such as to support the main point of paper, to illustrate the well-understanding, to acknowledge the original author and to present more details.
