Blog #3 "Plagiarism? Are you kidding?"

Blog #3

xcuse. Therefore, it is ts rule. Different backgroud  internationaly In the video, “Are You Kidding Me”, the female student explains why students should cite clearly and exactly in their articles, replying to the male student who complains the formality of citation and the difficulty of paraphrasing other’s ideas properly. For solving the problem, the female student recommends to use the main idea instead of paraphrasing the entire content. Furthermore, regardless of the respect of the original writers, the male student believes that it is a waste of time to make all the references in his articles. Although, at the same time, the female student partially admits that citation is seemingly like filling up a form, she lists five main purposes for citing. Specifically, they are avoiding plagiarism, strengthening the argument, providing more information, demonstrating the student have well read and acknowledge other’s work. What’s more, citing sources is not the end; providing further references for readers to track of original texts is indispensable.

Personally, it is exactly true for what the female student depicts, citing sources is a firm rule. In order to study in a social environment, we students need to strictly comply with the rule. It is the rule that protect our endeavor; it is not the restriction for us to complain. Obviously, if we do not want our work be copied by others freely, we need to cite out and show respect for the original authors thoroughly. There is an old saying, practice makes perfect. As the time passed by, the citations will naturally become a part of an article and will not be a waste of time anymore. In addition, although other’s work is a useful resource for strengthening the argument, maintaining and developing our own ideas is the core of our creations.

Plagiarism? Are you kidding?

A video which named “Plagiarism? Are you kidding?” illustrates the importance and the solution of citing resources in academic writing essays. The video use a conversion between two characters (a man and a woman) to figure out the questions. At first, the man argues the reason why he needs to cite all resources in his writing. The woman points out that citing resources not only show you read everything but also improve the article and make the article much stronger because more people agree with the argument. Then the man argues that the citation is wasting time. However, the woman explains that citation is the policy in writing just like rules in football. Furthermore, the woman suggests he can sometimes use the main idea of the article instead of paragraphing every words or grammar points. At last, the woman concludes that citation show the respect of other’s intelligent property and let more reader trust you own idea.
In my opinion, I agree with the woman’s point better. Citing resources is very often when I write my paper. I think citation help me to avoid plagiarism. In addition, citation gives much more information about my work, include what I have thought about the topic; what I have read form other’s idea; what I have organized the information in my article. Unlike the boy’s thinking, I don’t think that cite resources is wasting time. In fact, the resources list gives your hard working to the readers in academic writings.

Plagiarism? Are you kidding?

The video clip, ‘Plagiarism? Are you kidding?’ illustrates an argument how important to cite when they do their paper work, when it comes to plagiarism and the advantage of using other’s as well. Since he thinks that citing the original sources is like squandering of time, he minds using someone else’ information in his paper. However, the woman mentions that it would make his argument essay strong and more reader’s agreements with his statement. Moreover, in terms of how show the original track of source, the woman introduces some forms of avoiding plagiarism. Unlike his thought that he is required to paraphrase every sentence, she stresses that he can use a just main idea and he is needed own words, structure, even grammar points in the paper. As the aim of quoting, she emphasizes that an apt quotation and reference let readers more count on his idea and his writing. In addition, it indicates he is well read and make viewers recognize his idea is belongs to somebody’s.
It is certain that many people do not know the advantages of adding someone’s sources and even they do that, they mostly confused with the way to put those. I was just like the man who is talking in the video, because the paper that is full of my opinions and ideas was the most proper to complete writing paper for me. However, my statement could be more well-developed by showing specialists’ view and those surely supported my argument. Accordingly, I stand by the woman’s talk now. It is absolutely not a ‘waste of time’ to refer to the information, more importantly, complying with the rules for quotation and giving a credit for authors are strong demand.

Plagiarism? Are you kidding?

In the video “Plagiarism? Are you Kidding?”, the author Joel Bloch describe the reason why people always use other’s ideas and the way of how to use other’s ideas. Specifically speaking, first reason which is addressed by Bloch is that using other’s idea can strength your own idea, because more people agree with you, more stranger your idea is. Moreover, the author point out that it can show you have read everything you get from other’s article. Furthermore author also finds out that the most important way to use other people’s idea is that you must cite resources or paraphrase them. Moreover, the author discovers three reasons why we need citing other’s idea. Specifically speaking, first reason which is stressed by Bloch is that it can strength your own idea. Secondly, the author show that it can providing more information to reader in order to make reader have a better understanding on your ideas. Thirdly, author also emphasizes that it shows your own ability to acknowledge other people’s idea.

In this video, it gives us a controversial issue that whether people need to citing resources. In my opinion, I think it is necessary for people to cite sources when people borrow other’s idea into their own paper, because citing sources can show your ability to acknowledge other’s people resources as video shows. In addition, citing sources can strength your own idea, due to the fact that more people agree with your idea, more stranger your idea is.

Plagiarism?Are you kidding?

The video"plagiarism? Are you kidding" describes a conversation between two students which are talking about the reasons of citing the sources. The boy is confused that why he needs to use all these texts in his paper? He asserts that citing the sources is wasting of time and his prefessor just wants him to show he has read everything. The girl disagrees with the boy, because she insists that cite the sources can make the argument more stronger, also can show the ideas with other people and make other people agree with the writer. Two students also have the point of disagreement about paraphrasing, the girl analyzes just paraphrase the main idea sometimes  instead of parphrasing each sentence. Furthermore, cite also shows the intellectural properties and is not the everything to do with the plagiarism such as providing more information, demobstrating well read and acknowledging the idea belongs to others.
I agree with the girl that citing the source is good for academic writing. Besides, intellectural properties is very important to be protected. What's more, paraphrase the main idea not the each sentence can make readers know the point clearly. That's the reasons why I support with the girl.

Plagiarism? Are you kidding?

The title of  the video is plagiarism ,are you kidding?  In this video ,there were two people ,a man and a woman .They talked about the  plagiarism .The man asked why did he have to do another test of his paper, the woman said he should share the idea  about other  people but  the man think it's a waste of time , the woman said it's just like the rules of football, it 's difficult to plagiarism everything then  the man said the professor want to see if he write everything and so on
I  agree the opinion, I think when I  write papers ,I always search the information from the books or the internet, like the main idea. It is just to learn the other people's opinion . But if we  copy all the information form others, it's plagiarism ,I can learn them and bring all the message in my mind.

Summary of “Plagiarism? Are You Kidding?”

“Plagiarism? Are You Kidding?” is a video of a conversation between two people talking about the importance of citing source. And the main issues they talk about are the reasons and the correct ways to using intellectual properties. The boy complains that he is required to use all those texts in his paper and he asserts the only reason is that his professor wants him to show everything. However, the girl calms him down by explaining that using texts can show his ideas are shared by other people. If more people agree with his ideas, the stronger his argument is. And she adds that paraphrasing can reflect that he is a well reader, a more intellectual person who is aware of the content. Then the boy indicates that it is waste of time to cite source and it is not easy to paraphrase every sentence due to changing words and grammar points. And the girl compares the rules of paraphrasing to football rules to help him understanding and she points out that the boy sometime can give the main idea instead of copying all sentences. Later, the boy implies that the paraphrasing just follows certain rules. The girl partly acknowledges his viewpoint because sometimes people cite too much source; nevertheless, since writers can not always predict readers’ expects, it is hard for them to cite important information. Finally, the boy wonders if citing has relationship with plagiarism. And the girl mentions they can be confusing but not same. She supports her opinion by listing four positive points of citing such as strengthening arguments, providing more information, demonstrating well read and acknowledging source belongs to some else.
According to the video, there are many advantages of citing source. Therefore, in my perspective, if we can learn and know use other’s intellectual properties in a correct way, people will not only understand our ideas better but also share more their knowledge.

Plagiarism showing in the video
Yixuan Gong
Dr. Joel Bloch, in his video “ Are you kidding”, focuses on the methods about how to quote, some controversial issues and the reasons of citing. The boy in the video argues that paraphrasing is difficult and he has to follow a form that is jejune and wastes time. On the contrast, the girl concludes that people just need to point the main ideas instead of changing everything. Furthermore, citing is the rule of academic writing and benefit to yourself. On the contrary, citing is a elemental way to avoid plagiarism, acknowledging it belongs to others, providing information that make readers trace your ideas and learn you better, distinguishing your argument to show that you read carefully.
One of the main controversial questions in the video is over-done the citation. The boy confused about why he has to use all the text rather than showing the main thoughts that he has read. The girl in the video explained that you should credit everything in which you guess it is important to cite since you would never know what you readers expect to you. I think the woman is right. Our purpose is let readers understand our ideas thoroughly and agree with our opinions. Thus, quoting everything is necessary.

“Plagiarism? Are you kidding?”

The video called “plagiarism? Are you kidding?” describes a dialogue of a man and a women, which about the purpose of citing in study. The man holds the opinion that the reason of citing is just want his professor to know he does read the content thoroughly. He definitely believes that it wastes a lot of time on citing; it is tough to paraphrase all the sentences. Neverthelessthe women disagrees with him in some points. She states that it is not just let the professor get to know whether students read and comprehend the main concept. Readers can easily trust him and give more agreement about the paper by sharing the main idea. The woman indicates that there are some policies for citing just like the rules for football. Also, she supports the man to use the main ideas from the content so that he does not need to paraphrase every sentence. In addition, it is important to respect others intellectual property. It is not always plagiarism to citing because the woman states that citing can allow more information and illustrate people read it well.
In my opinion, when I writing a paper, it is vital that citing some important concept form the reading article but not plagiarism. Firstly, I must protect the intellectual property, which means I need to mark the source clearly. Moreover, I can use the citation and paraphrasing to demonstrate my main point and let readers have a resonance. So that’s why I definitely support to citing.

Plagiarism? Are you kidding?

Dr. Joel Bloch, the video maker of “Plagiarism? Are you kidding?’, discusses the functions of citing sources in summary. The male student in this video insists that citing is unnecessary and time-wasting because the professor only wants to know he has read everything. The female student opposes his idea because citing is the indispensable rule of summary. In addition, she explains that if more people have similar opinions, his argument can seem more believable. In contrast, he argues that paraphrasing every sentence differently is so difficult for him to approach. However, she states that writing main ideas is better and more trustworthy. Furthermore, she admits that sometimes citing is redundant, but we should cite for readers who wants to track more information in addition to show these ideas are others’intellectual properties.
Whether only writing down main idea of the passage can show our well reading of it instead of paraphrasing each sentence into a different form to constitute our summary or not is a hot topic in this video. In my opinion, the female student is more reasonable. The definition of summary is generalizing the main idea of the passage to show our thorough reading and understanding of the article. So main idea is enough and even better than paraphrase of each sentence for summary.

Summary and respond to the video "Plagiarism? Are you kidding?"

In the video "Plagiarism? Are you kidding", two students talked about plagiarism and purpose of citing. The male student considered citing to be waste of time because it can only be sign of reading original sources carefully and conscientiously, and he also thought that to paraphrase all the sentences and to change grammar points make it even worse to cite. However, the female student hold opposite opinion. She viewed the citing as rules, and she explained to the man that citing doesn't mean paraphrasing everything but only use the main idea. Furthermore she pointed out that the purpose of citing can be varied such as to support the main point of paper, to illustrate the well-understanding, to acknowledge the original author and to present more details.

I agree with what the female student said more. Citing could be really helpful to academic writing, and during the paraphrasing, we can express our own point more comprehensively. By giving more information, readers can acquire more knowledge and we can demonstrate our view throughly. And not only citing helps but also it shows that our respect to the original source. Intellectual property need to be protected. Even though sometimes it could be difficult and inconvenient, it is beneficial and necessary.

Plagiarism? Are you Kidding?

Plagiarism? Are you Kidding?
There are two characters in the video “Plagiarism? Are you Kidding?” a man and a woman, and they have a conversation about the purpose of citing. In their conversation, the man simply thinks we only cite to let professor know we read the article conscientiously which he considered as waste of time. The woman, however, points out that to show our understanding to the source can be one purpose but the purposes of citing are more than that. She illustrates that we also cite others’ ideas in order to back up our own opinion with powerful sources, which means by doing this we can gain more agreement from readers. What’s more, others’ ideas are their intelligent property, when we use the ideas we ought to cite to show our respect to those owners. The man argues that it’s hard to change all words and grammar from those sources into our own, so the women suggest him to paraphrase only the main point.
Just as every coin has two sides, I think citing can lead both advantage and dis advantage. First of all, citing, beside academic, help us build up moral standards for respecting intelligent property. And when the intelligent property gets protect, more people would engage in developing ideas. On the other hand, because of citing, we would probably pay more attention on paraphrase others’ ideas into our own paper rather than develop our own ideas. Thus, creative thinking may be less and less.

Plagiarism and citing

The video shows the importance of citing the sources directly. Male student complained about his assignment, he thought it was just another trick which made by professor to make sure his comprehension of the text.Moreover, he held the opinion that citing contribute nothing but waste his time. However, female student told him that text used in the paper can be shown to the reader and make them agree with his paper, she also pointed out that his view of citing is totally wrong, citing is some kind of regulation which like we have in the football game.Citing can make you know more about the assignment. Using the main idea and citing the sources can let reader get more information from the article.Furthermore, citing is a good way that to make a strong argument and clarify  that your ideas are not just copied from other's opinion.
This video is mainly about the reason we cite the sources, most of us may be still a little confused about the citing.In my point of view, I agree with the point made by the female student. citing sometimes is like a sort of practice, it forces us to find the important parts and the main idea of the article, we change the words and the sentences to make sure not causing plagiarism.

Plagiarism? Are you kidding?

In the video, which is titled “Plagiarism? Are you kidding?”, two characters discuss the purpose of citing where they draw resources, as well as the advantages of doing it.  The man argues that citation is a waste of time and professors simply want to confirm if students read the content.  However, the woman maintains that the purpose of citation is not only for avoiding plagiarism.  Since they provide the information of the original sources, they can reinforce their idea by demonstrating that others also agree with it.  Additionally, she states that citing also means they are knowledgeable with what they described; therefore, writers can gain readers’ trust through showing they are well read.
There is an ongoing debate on the purpose and necessity of citation.  One of the basic purposes of citation, which is informing where you retain the idea, is to show the respect to the person who creates the invisible property.  It is certain that people should acknowledge when they used other’s idea.  However, I think there are negative effects as well as advantages of citation.  Writers can illustrate their knowledge based on citing every text; on the other hand, since they have several others’ idea in their writing, their writing does not look creative.  For example, the book “Arcades Project”, by Walter Benjamin, is mostly composed with citation.  Although this book is considered as having good content and logical structure, it is insufficient of the writer’s own thought.  Immoderate citing has a negative influence on writing.  Therefore, it is important to make a balance between a writer’s idea and citation of others.

Plagiarism and Intellectual Property Issues

This week we are talking about the PLAGIARISM STORIES’ video. The last video figures out why we need to do citing and how to do citing in writing essay. Two characters have different opinions on it. Girl has the most right idea in using citing. Boy usually asks some important questions which are often happened in essay writing. Firstly, should we need to use citing in the article? Answer is that we should use some academic resources to improve our main idea in our article. If a student writing a science essay, he need to use the previous scientist or professor’s result to prove his own result to give the academic conclusion to show scientific process in the project is correct. Even the arts and social science’s students also need to use some same topic books to find some useful argument points or theories from the university library to improve the essay.  Citing is not waste of time in writing process and it does not only prove that how much books does students already reading, but also improve students’ ideas and give opportunities to learn how to share ideas by other people.  Students need to give the reference after the paper, which is the most important part in academic writing. Citing resources like the rule in football game. Readers use writers’ reference to understand what writers doing.

Secondly, paraphrasing resources is another significant step. We cannot directly use the original sentences in our essay. If we use the same words in paper, we will meet a big trouble that is plagiarism. University prohibits the plagiarism, because this behaviors against the academic rule. Only one way to use other author’s idea in our paper is that we paraphrase the original sentences in our own words.  The question is that how should we do in paraphrasing step? We need to change the words to synonyms and sometimes we should do sentence pattern transformation in our paper. Usually we cannot find some prefect words to instead original words, but don't worried about that. We don't need to paraphrase whole things, just using the main idea from citing resources. Teacher always wants students to say everything in their paper from other resource means that teacher wants us to do an excellent work. If a student has high paraphrasing skill, he will transfer the idea very well. An excellent paraphrasing can let readers to trust you more than other writers. The benefit of paraphrasing is that providing more information, more argument, demonstrating your idea are all right and ideas belonging somebody else.

Finally, using citing in our paper is important to help us understand more details about our research. Citing can prove our research result or give stronger argument in the paper clearly. Readers believe and support your paper through the citing. Paraphrasing is the most significant skill in writing paper. We cannot copy words from other resources. However we can transfer original words to our own words and give the same main idea.

Through this video we understand the reason why we should cite resources and how to use them in our paper.

culture experience

It seems that the former culture experience blog I wrote lack some details about what I've experienced. Before I came to Ohio I lived in my aunt's house which is in Maryland for almost a month. During that time, I took a walk with my aunt everyday  after dinner. When I walk around a small lake in her community, I can always saw people walking their dogs. The dogs were so cute so I said to my aunt "I want to buy a dog". My aunt said to me owning a pet in the State is different from China.,it's not that easy.My aunt also told me that before I buy dogs I should take some classes to learn how to take care of them and when the dogs get sick I must take them to pet hospital. However, in China, at least in the city where I born and raised, I've never heard anyone take classes before they keep a pet. What's more some people in China may even dump their pets when they get sick.

Blog #3 Plagiarism and Intellectual Property Issues

Watch Plagiarism? Are you Kidding? at (http://plagiarismstories.tumblr.com) All of this video was created by Dr. Joel Bloch on plagiarism. Write a summary paragraph on the video. What points do the two characters make? What is the purpose of citing? Cite the title and use descriptive and informative sentences (illustrates, depicts, shows) Then, respond to the issues raised in the video. What is one of the main controversial questions (an issue) that this video discussion raises? Do you agree or disagree with what was said about the issue?

My Cultural Experiences

Speaking of my experiences I felt cultural differences so far, I would come up with two stories happened in classroom and out of classroom.

First, it was kind of refreshing to see the American students’ attitude in the class. After starting the first semester, ‘Intro to Theater’ was my first class in OSU and this class totally gave me a bit shock as to active atmosphere in class. Since the topic of class was expressing the word by using and linking body with classmates, I had to stand up and discussed where each person need to locate. The interesting thing was that all students did not hesitate to move and participate like lying on the floor or spreading arms, even girls.
Otherwise, compared to class in South Korea, students usually listen what teacher says and mind talking or showing own opinion in front of classmates. In addition, they are ashamed of presenting their view and feel awkward when everyone focus on their speech. I was with this feeling as well in Korea. I felt some strange to American lecture though, but I would like to be used to follow their style which is consist of discussion, response and presentation since it would help me to enjoy and think wider and creative.

The second experience was happened in restaurant. After having a first dinner in America, I was just confused with the bill. Because, unlike South Korea, the price in menu does not include the tax and what is more, there was a tipping culture in U.S.A. Generally, Koreans give a tip when they are treated in luxury and expensive restaurant, but Americans naturally give a tip to the waiter, even it is not much money.

Here are cultural experiences I have experienced for 3 weeks in U.S.A. and I eagerly look forward to what is coming to me in cultural aspect and teach what the culture of U.S.A. is.

My Culture experience – the Humanized design in OSU

My Culture experience – the Humanized design in OSU
This weekend, I had enough spare time to walk around the OSU camps carefully. I put this little trip as a discovery. I used my camera to explore the different culture phenomenon between China an America. Finally I got my culture experience, the Humanized designs in OSU.

Now get ready to follow my view! When I wanted to go out of the dorm, the sound of my refrigerator reminded me of the different rules of using electrical equipment between China. In Chinese universities, students are not allowed to use electrical equipment after 11:00pm and the power of the equipment do not allow over 1000w. That means you can’t use a blower in you dorm!

Actually, there are a lot of humanized designs in the dorm while in China we don’t have. Living in my dorm is quite comfortable because I can buy a snack or a drink in the vending machines instead of going out to buy things in China; I don’t need to worry that there is no toilet paper in the restrooms; I can wash my clothes at any time!

While I was walking on the street, I could see the description board of each building clearly. This humanized design makes it easier for new students to find their classrooms and to know the buildings’ names and locations. Unfortunately, there was sudden rain! I ran into the Thompson Library and kept myself from getting wet. The first thing I saw in the Library was the umbrella bags. The bags kept the floor dry and prevented the rain from wetting the clothes.

All in all, I like the humanized designs in OSU, which make our daily life more comfortable and convenient. I need to say that cultural differences exist everywhere. All we need to do is just to use our eyes to find.

cultural experience

cultural experience

Before I start my topic, I want to shout out it's freezing cold inside the buildings! Every time a enter my classroom or dinning places, I felt like the weather change from summer to winter. I am really confused about the low temperature in the America.
I came from China and there are a lot of cultural differences between China and America. Food difference is cliche so I don't want to talk about it.What I want to discuss is  the difference in how people treat animals in China and in America.
In China, at least in my hometown, we can always see stray dogs and cats on the street. Stray pets appear because people didn't take care of their pets well or even worse some people just dump them. I am not saying people in China don't like pets, sure they do. But, in China people don't have those strong awareness of animal protection like people in the America. In my opinion, this cultural phenomena happpens beacuse people in China treat pets like their personal belonglings. They don't really respect pets' lives. Some people adopt pets due to their momentary preferences and after their enthusiasm waned they just dump those pitiful pets.
In America, I've heard people treat pets as their family numbers. I don't know wheather it is true or not. But as I have seen, I believe most of American treat their pets better then Chinese do. And I also heard that in America, befor people adopt pets they must take some classes to learn how to take care of the pets.
I'm not rooting for anyone. I just told the facts I saw.

Introduce myself

Self introduction

Hi, everyone. It is my pleasure to introduce meself here. My name is Chuyang Li, I came from Canton (=Guangzhou), China. And since we are now in the U.S, a English spoken country, I  would prefer people call my English name--Leo. Though I named myself Leo, I am actually a Virgo. I really want to tell everyone something about my hometown, a really fantastic place, but my experience tells me that doing this won't impress people. Thus, I'd like to share something interesting about me.
I have a unbelievable sense of direction, I can remember almost every streets I passed by. I can even remember how shops、stores and restaurants on those streets look like. The first day I came to check-in in the Ohio Union, my uncle drove me through the campus only once. However, since then I know exactly how to get to the building I want without using a map. Another fact about me I've to mention is that I have problem remembering names. In China, I lived near a river since I was born and there are two bridges close to my house, but even now I can't remember their names.
I love playing badminton and watching comics. I played badmintion almost everyday from the day I could access to RPAC.  My favorite comics are One piece and Silver Soul.
Dear classmates, I hope I can get to know each of you. And I wish we all have a amazing college life.

Cross culture observation by Richard

The first time I entered Thompson Library, I was amazed by its intensive collection and pleasant quiet atmosphere. Thousands of students read and wrote papers at group study rooms and quiet study space. Everyone tried to keep their key as low as possible instead of disturbing others. Compare it with Chinese university libraries which are so noisily overload for various commercial purposes like renting rooms for different training courses, it is the true library for everyone, for people who want to study.
This Saturday was our crazy game day, so most university students went to the Ohio Stadium or stayed at dorms for watching football game, and Thompson Library was so empty during game time. Most of the students there have Asian faces. Surprisingly, after the football game, library was still empty because American students went to different parties to celebrate our victory. No homework at game day! The working hour of Americans is so different from that of Chinese. Many American public areas like our campus dining halls shorten their opening hours at the weekends even some shops and museums are closed at Sunday. Dan, my host family, told me that he has habit of playing golf with few of his friends in the Sunday morning for nearly 20 years. Enjoying free time is the most important part of Americans who separately divide work hours and leisure times while many Chinese have to work overtime whenever at weekdays, weekends or holidays. For instance, my father has to keep his phone open 24/7, he always answered business phone calls while we were travelling outside. It heavily impacted quality of life.
I am trying to adapt this American mode. Hope all of you enjoy your life.

Cross-Cultural Experience—Yalin Chen

When I came to Columbus, the people I met first were my host family and I lived with in their house for four days. They are really kind, but the way they treated a guest is different form Chinese’s. Usually, in a Chinese family, they treat a guest extremely “politely”. They would not let a guest to do any chores and they prepared all things for the guest, like breakfast. However, in my host family, they introduced kitchen for me and let me to use it freely, including making breakfast by myself. It is different in Chinese family, which will prepare breakfast for you. When the male host asked his daughters for helping him dry the dishes, I told him that I wanted to help them; he gladly to accept that. When I was drying the dishes with their daughters and talking about my life in china, it really like I am a member in this family

Besides, I have a strong feeling in air condition indoors. It is really cold and I freeze all the time. It is really necessary to bring a jacket all the time, though it is not that useful.

Similarly, most food in the US is really cold and it really hurt my Asian stomach. I have soup and rice everyday in my country, but the diet change a lot in Columbus. Carbonated drink and sandwiches became my each meal; it really takes time to be accustomed to the local food.

Party culture in the US is really crazy. They party all the time even in the morning. As it is seldom to hear a party in China,to feel the atmosphere of our school parties will be a a funny part in my life in Columbus.
