DST Morrill Life

As the college life continues, I really want to talk about the life in the dormitory. Finding the best residence hall in the campus is my first challenge in this academic year. Before I came here, I asked which is the best residence hall in the Ohio State, the Morrill Tower came into my sight and become my decision. However, when I finally got here, I found the description made by that "nice guy" is a little different from the truth. Actually, I really can not feel the convenience Which he described as a 10 minute trip to any part of campus. Then I realized maybe that guy's major is the advertising and the real state marking and he just sold another house successfully.
Morrill Tower has a special design which has a suite contains four rooms, a public living room and a restroom. There are eleven students in our suite totally, five come from China; four are native students and two are from the mysterious middle east. So the situation becomes five on four, looks like Chinese students have some advantage. People are kind and always willing to ask about the life in China. For example, David, a Jewish student who live in the room beside mine, always discuss the tradition of the Jewish and the Chinese, then we surprisingly found that both Jewish and Chinese use lunar calendar to welcome the new year.
And I have to talk about Mohd, a student who comes from the mysterious middle east, he is mysterious, actually, three weeks after the class beginning, I only saw him twice, we thought that he might be some sort of saint or monk who always do penance or practice his fighting skill in his room.
The greatest thing is many of us love playing video games, it seems like that the video games are famous in everywhere; therefore, we purchased a 40-inch TV together, now our living room has become more living, we play games, eat huge 16-inch pizza, watch the news and the football game on the Saturday.
Things get crazy when the weekends comes, lately, there is a crazy (you can definitely call it crazy)activity on the 21st floor, it's called paper gun fight or something like that. Students who live in suite 2110 and suite 2120 are having a "war" right now, they use paper to made bullets and fight against each other with their guns. Recently, team 2110 controls the laundry room and preparing attack the HQ of the 2120, so team 2120 is building their defense with chairs and bed sheet. I can never see these things happen in Chinese University.
Life in the Morrill Tower makes me feel that nothing could not be solved by communication, even though we come from different country, have different belief, try to be nice and kind, we can definitely be friends.

  1. Can you give an example of some communication problem you solved (in your conclusion)? IT is hard for me to see the connection between "paper gun fight" and your conclusion.
