Reflection of writing

  Nine weeks passed since the semester began, We have discussed plagiarism and written several articles in English. We talked about the tense, verb, sentence. Actually, I'm not a good writer, even write an article in Chinese could be a tough task for me because writing in Chinese style try to let student use flowery sentence and vocabulary to make their work more "beautiful". The biggest writing difference between two countries is that we usually read others' articles and remember their good verb using and sentence so that we can use them in our own work; however, these writing skill can cause plagiarism in America. We present our own experience and imagination to complete the task.

  But the American academic article is quite different from the Chinese version, we focus on the opinion, try to give more and more detail to support that, we read other's articles, cite the source and use it to reinforce our point. I took physics class this semester, at first, I did not do very well in this class, I just could not understand why my teammates wrote so much in the quiz since I have nothing to write. I confused myself and asked for the opinion from ESL professor, he told me that American always try to write more detail so that the readers can fully understand what we want to explain. Even the digital story, we need have a conclusion, then we use self-experience to present it.
