Seize the opportunity

We all know that, in China the high school entrance exam is one of the most important exams for students. So my last year in middle school became more and more stressful, there was tons of homework and exams waiting for me which made me talk less and get depressed. At that time I met her, she was my classmate; however, we barely talk until teacher changed the seats and then I sat in front of her. As the time pass by we gradually got to know each other and became friends. She was a lively and cheerful girl who can always make people happy, just like an angel. Her appearance made my dull and passionless life seemed to become brilliant and I got away from depression. I laugh more and more often and became enthused about life.For the story above I guess everyone could tell I was falling in love with her, but maybe I was too naïve or what I didn’t realize that myself! The time when I finally realize that I was so into her was a few weeks after I stayed in a high school without her. Yes, we went to different high school. I was able to get into the best high school in Guangdong while she didn’t. What really bothered me was, I really regret, about why I didn’t chase her, so I decided to forget about her and start a new life in high school. However, I failed. When another girl said she wants to be my girlfriend I rejected because I still couldn’t forget about her. High school wasn’t that relaxed as I used to thought, especially in the best school. Homework and exams are just like neutralizer; they can obliterate the happiness moment from you memory. Her smile and sweet voice fade out and I thought I almost forgot about her. But the dramatic thing happened. A movie named You Are the Apple of My Eye which is also known as In Those Years, the Girl We All Went After was released. It’s based on a semi-autobiographical novel and mainly talks about two students they love each other deeply but they all keep their feeling in heart and never tell. Finally, they break up and the girl got married. It’s kind of sad romance story. This movie lets me understand when you love someone don’t hide your emotions otherwise you may miss something important. The movie also help me recalled her and I suddenly aware of a truth that I was just pretending I forgot about her but indeed my feeling towards her never change these years.Since I was planning to go over sea, I reminded myself that I should not have regret anymore, just go and do the right thing. Then I decided to express my true feeling about her before I leave, so I can move on by real meaning this time. In order to embolden myself, I told the plan to one of my best friend, who is also her best friend. After hearing my words, my friend told me that in middle school she was likely have the same feelings to me too!It was on the top of a mountain where I told her I was so into her, however, I didn’t ask her to be my girlfriend because long distant love is not fair for both of us. She kept silence for minutes or two and then asked me a question which made me regret for my whole life. “Why don’t you tell me in middle school?” she said.
That’s how a story ends with another story begins. After I confess, we became even better friend. Maybe that’s because we all told each other the feelings we used to hide so a window between us was open. Since I left China, we send email to each other every week to share our lives. Although our story has a kind of good ending, I would like to say we should really seize the opportunity before it lost. When something or someone is meaningful to you don’t let it go, cherish it and do the right thing which won’t make you regret in the future.
