Blog 7 Issue 1
Many reports show that more students commit plagiarism contributed mostly by international students recently. Elizabeth Redden, the author of”Cheating Across Cultures”, states that some students of Duke University were charged with plagiarism, most of them were from Asian countries. She suggests cultural difference between countries is the main reason for this issue. At the same time, language barriers international students’ faces, isolation and desperation they feel are possible reasons for this growing academic misconduct. In contrast, another famous university-Harvard University traps in academic misconduct scandal. As reported, 125 students were suspected to finish take-home exam by groups while they were asked to work by themselves. Mr. Harris, as cited by Richard and Jess, suggests the modern technology propels this phenomenon. No any geographical restrictions among students by all-pervading network. So the convenience of commiting academic misconduct is the main reason of this issue.
THis is not really a good issue because everyone knows that both American students and International students both commit lots of plagiarism. You can use it in your introduction.
