DST-a wonderful journey

In my life, traveling has been the most important aspect because it can bring me different experience every time. My parents took me out for a trip each year for enjoying city scenery and natural landscape, but I prefer the natural landscape which could let our bodies relax while forget about those worries in the city. I'm very impressed by the journey in Gansu. It was a memorable journey.

Gansu is a province in China which has a long hisory and contains important part of the Silk Road.

My father and his friends took my brothers and I on a 2 hours drive from the city of Jiayuguan to the foot of the mountain camps. Along the way, a picturesque place was attractive and interesting, especially shepherd sheep on the grass. However, closer to the foot of the mountain while the temperature is gradually declining. The camp altitude of over 3700 meters, 5 km crawel forward, we can reach an altitude of 4300 meters of the ice tongue forefront. After we had rested and eaten some steamed buns, then our exciting trip was beginning...

Unfortunately, the beginning of 1 km made me feel more pressure. Although surrounded me by beautiful scenery everywhere is green and colorful flowers, climbing deprived me of oxygen. Surprisingly, it was windy and began to rain when we climbed part of the road. We were rueful to bring the umbrellas due to our lack of experience because it was very dangerous during our climb the mountain. We put away the umbrellas even while  it was rain. After such a rainy day, the sun came out briefly, but I'm surprised it began to snow. I was moving on slowly while I was expecting to see a stone tablet were inscribed 1 km, it means I climbed the another 1km, the most I expected is the fifth stone tablet named "seventy-one" because it means I have finished the terrible 5km, but it was far away. At that time, the happiest moment was when my father told us to have a rest. A breath of fresh air and looked at the surrounding mountains which was a pleasant moment. When I looked at the overcast, I was thinking the weather is changeable and has showed me most of the weather in addition to hail. Later, it turned out to hail. "My goodness! Are you kidding me?" Someone said closer to the heaven, God can hear your minds clearly. At that time, I believed it. We stood up immediately and speed up the pace. However, the danger was yet to come, because the final road was full of stones without a complete road. You can not envision the sharp stones around you , the worst thing is you must climb the stones in front of you. My brother was the most poor, one hand needed to protect his camera, one hand was to maintain a balance and his face was covered with sweat. I was one of the last of our team to pass through of the stones and I was not aware of sharp stones torn my hand until I touched the glacier. It was my first time to see such a large glacier which become dazzling in the sunshine. I felt tremble when I touched the snow water. After taking some pictures, we must went down. We chose another road to went down, originally thought it was simple, we did not expect it was more difficult...

In the end, when we arrived at the camp, we were all burned out from walking. I think I almost lost my life in that exciting experience. However, I learned a lot from the journey:Never give up,the target is not far away which is like a stone tablet, each one witnesses efforts. It was an experience I will treasure for the rest of my life...

  1. it is a nice story, you discribe the difficulty that you met and what you have learnd in this trip. moreover you use a lot of connect word which is good. the only tipe that I want to give is that you discribe more about unimportant information for example how you get there and who go with you. I think you can discuss some feelings that you get after you get into the top of the mountain.
