Blog 7: Issue 1

It is always a critical problem that whether the plagiarism is related to the moral or not. The article “plagiarism is not a big moral deal” by Stanley fish addressed that the concept of plagiarism belongs to among cultural aspect, moral issue and rules of a game. Firstly, Fish considered Golf’s rule as a good analogy for plagiarism about a learned sin which means plagiarism is “an insider’s obsession. The author stated that golf players and fans both understand and abide by the regulation. However, in my opinion, plagiarism is not only the rule of game, but also related to the morality. For example, it is definitely illegal that someone steals something from others or use other’s thing without permission. Even though all the writers should know their rule is plagiarism, someone still cheat will demonstrate that plagiarism is related to the person’s morality. Actually, in that way, cheating and stealing are some, there are both moral wrong. Plagiarism means people want overcome a challenge but not via the unjust means.
